The Boston Bruins:
Legendary Hockey
I must admit, I wasn't a real big hockey fan until I met my college roomate, Mike. He got me into it.
I have kept track of who wins the Stanley Cup and who gets to the All-Star game, but I never really cared.
Now I'm a Bruins fan through and through.
The Bruins got off to a rough start this season, but things are finally looking up. They have started to put things together, and they are winning. A 4-5-4 record is nothing to cheer about, but when you consider the horrific start to the season for the Bruins, then you understand what it means. The Bruins had won four straight as of October 30. Dave Andreychuk, a recent pickup, tied a team record for goals in a single game with four on October 28. Andreychuk is showing that he is a powerful wing in the National Hockey League.
With Jason Allison serving the puck up to Dave Andreychuk, the Bruins are going places this year. Doubters thought the terrible start would mean another rebuilding year is in the midst. The Bruins dashed those thoughts by storming back to one win away from an even record. The veteran, Ray Borque, is still keeping the puck out of the Bruin's net this year. The pinnacle of contemporary hockey in Boston, Ray Borque will finish his 20th season with Boston. Kyle McClaren is taking lessons from Borque, and he is turning heads with beautiful defensive plays of his own.
And behind the net for the Boston Bruins, Byron Dafoe. The Bruins management and Dafoe finally agreed to terms. Dafoe announced a three year deal with the club at a press conference on October 29. This means the Bruins are a force to be reckoned with. It's time to bring glory back to Boston. Hockey is a good place to start.
